New York Man Caught Trying to Fill Fake Rx at Fairfield CVS

Donald McCann, 28, was arrested for trying get oxycodone and naprosyn with a forged prescription, according to police.

 

A 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he attempted to fill out a fake prescription at CVS Pharmacy on Post Road.

According to police, Donald McCann of 15 Robinson Ave., Bedford Hills, NY, arrived at the store and submitted prescriptions for oxycodone and naprosyn. After he left the store, the pharmacist called to confirm the prescriptions with the doctor listed on the forms who confirmed that they were forged, police said.

When McCann returned to the store to pick up his prescriptions, he was met by officers. He told police that the prescription slips were given to him by a friend, which he refused to identify. Officers also found that McCann filled out another fake prescription on April 21, which was taken as evidence.

McCann was charged with second-degree forgery, possession of illegal prescription drugs and prohibited action-controlled substance. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.

A 20-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on Tuesday after he was found driving in a stolen car.

According to police, Phillip Azor of 311 Jefferson Street caught the attention of officers on Kings Highway East after he cut off a police car while driving a green 1994 Lincoln Continental. The officers followed him to Arcadia Avenue in Bridgeport and ordered him to pull over. After running the license plate number, the officers discovered that the car was registered to a Stratford resident and was reported as stolen.

Azor told police he was walking down Fairfield Avenue when he saw the vehicle running with no one inside, so he decided to take it. He picked up two of his friends and told them that the car belonged to his uncle. The car, which had extensive damage to its right side, was towed.

Azor was arrested and charged with third-degree larceny, operating a vehicle under suspension, possession of marijuana and operating a stolen motor vehicle. He was posted a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 5.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday after a verbal argument with her sister-in-law turned physical.

The victim told police that Angelica Davis of 90 Sunrise Ave. was arguing with her on the phone, so she hung up on her. Police said that Davis then arrived at her mother's home where the victim is living. The two began to argue and Davis allegedly shoved the victim with her right hand, broke the skin under the victim's eye with her fingernail and threw her onto the living room couch.

Davis was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and released on a PTA. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 23.

Police were called to 120 High Point Lane on Tuesday after the homeowner arrived and discovered that the sliding back door and all of the kitchen cabinets were open. When officers arrived, they discovered that a family friend had arrived at the house, noticed that the back door was open and opened all of the kitchen cabinets in order to play a trick on the homeowner, according to police.

The department is currently investigating an argument between a town resident and the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend's daughter.

The complainant told police that his girlfriend's daughter's ex-boyfriend called his home to speak with the daugher, but the complainant didn't allow it. Shortly after, the ex-boyfriend arrived at the complainant's home, banged on the front door and called out for his ex-girlfriend. The complainant said he went to the door and asked him to leave, but when he refused, the complainant pushed him. The ex-boyfriend then left the property and walked towards his vehicle. The complainant then called the police to request that they warn the man not to return.

An hour later, police received a call from the ex-boyfriend, who said he was at St. Vincent's Hospital. He told police that when the complainant pushed him, he slipped and injured his knee. The ex-boyfriend also had marks visible marks around his neck, which he said came from the complainant putting his hands around his neck.

An independent witness told police that the complainant did push the ex-boyfriend, but never touched his neck.

Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins in the vicinity of Church Hill Road.

According to police, a resident at 785 Church Hill Road reported at 2:28 a.m. on Wednesday that he heard his garage door opening. By the time he got outside, he said the door was closing and he saw two males wearing black clothing running away. The resident checked his car, which was parked in the driveway and saw that the doors were unlocked, the garage opener was missing and the glove compartment was open.

When police arrived, a canine officer attempted to track the suspects through Wynwood Drive, London Terrace and Casmir Drive. Four additional break-ins in the area were later reported. A Toyota Camry was rummaged through at 36 Wynwood Drive, a Motorola Bluetooth was stolen from the inside of a Toyota Rav4 at 77 London Terrace, a vehicle was rummaged through at 66 Wynwood Drive and $20 was stolen from a Jeep Wrangler at 128 Lockwood Road.

A student reported that personal items were stolen from her room as she was moving out of her rental unit on Fairfield Beach Road, police said.

The victim said that while she was gathering some of her personal items, she noticed that her hair straightener (valued at $150), a hair dryer, a MacBook (valued at $1,000) and some clothes were missing. One of the victim's roommates retrieved the hair dryer from the home of another roommate's boyfriend and returned it to her, according to police. The other items, however, have not been retrieved.
