Car Stolen from Prospect Lane Garage

Police are investigating that theft and the theft of a bike from a Brooklawn Avenue residence.

A Prospect Lane resident reported to Wednesday that her car was stolen from her garage, police said.

According to the report, police believe the suspect used the garage door opener inside the complainant's husband's car, which was parked in the driveway. One of the windows was rolled down, police said.

With the garage door opened, the suspect was able to drive away with the complainant's Land Rover, as well as the woman's purse and cell phone, according to the report.

The vehicle is valued at $20,000. This is under investigation.

A Brooklawn Avenue resident reported to police Tuesday that her son's bike was stolen from the garage.

According to the report, the complainant was not sure whether the bicycle had been inside the garage or leaning against the garage. The bike is a blue and black Trek Mountain Track 220, valued at $440.

A neighbor told police that he noticed two black teens riding through the neighborhood on bikes at the time the theft was reported.

This is under investigation.
