According to the report, a black man wearing a one-piece blue mechanic suit and a hood who appeared to be in his late 30s placed items in a shopping basket, walked out of Walgreens without attempting to pay, and left the parking lot in a white Chevy.

The Chevy had been stolen from a man in Bridgeport, police said. Fairfield police traced the suspect vehicle’s plates to the registered owner, who was not aware the car had been stolen. He reported the stolen vehicle to Bridgeport police and state police were notified as well.

Bridgeport police later found the car and Johnson after he was involved in an accident on Fairfield Avenue and Iranistan Avenue in Bridgeport. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where Fairfield police issued him a misdemeanor summons for the Walgreen’s larceny, which totaled $120 worth of merchandise.

He was released on a written promise to appear in court for the larceny charge on Feb. 28.

David Diaz, 20, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia after police discovered him and several others in a car parked outside of Sky Hookah Lounge after the business had closed.

Officers found glassine baggies on Diaz’s person and a scale and baggy of marijuana in the car, according to the report. There was also an open bottle of vodka in the car, which resulted in an infraction issued to a minor who was in the car, Lussier said.

Diaz was released a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 2.

Manoj Ramachandran, 34, was also charged with two counts of violating a protective order and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

According to the report, Ramachandran and his girlfriend agreed to meet up at Walgreens and were talking in a car when he allegedly assaulted her. A witness walked up to the car and Ramachandran left. Police found him walking in sight on Kings Highway, Lussier said.

The victim went inside Walgreens to report the assault, and a Walgreens employee called police. Ramachandran was identified as the suspect, detained, and held on a $10,000 bond. His court date was scheduled for today.
