FAIRFIELD 'PLACE OF THE DAY'
The Fairfield Public Library is not only home to many books, DVDs, CDs, and other items available to loan out; it’s also home to many a popular discussion, workshop, and presentation. The library is a busy place, set right in the middle of Fairfield’s downtown, and boasts a computer lab, an art gallery space, and an excellent and helpful staff.

- Fairfield Country Day School Pre-K Open House: 9 a.m., Fairfield Country Day School. Learn about the new program.
- Cheese School – Winter 2012: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fairfield Cheese Company. $45 for the winter session. Tonight’s subject: fondue.
- Supporting Good Study Skills 101: 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Pequot Library, free. Parents are invited to this workshop to learn how to foster good study skills for their middle or high school students.
- Volunteers Needed For the Store at First Church Congregational in Fairfield: Volunteer once week, once every two weeks, or once a month at First Church Congregational’s thrift store.
- Fairfield American Little League is now open for registration for the spring.
- Juice, Jello, and Jams Drive: All day, all January at CardSmart on the Black Rock Turnpike. Donate juice boxes, jams, or jelly to benefit Sister Theresa in Bridgeport.
- 10 & Under Indoor Tennis: Register your child for 10 and under indoor tennis at Fairfield Indoor Tennis.
- Adult Volleyball Class: Registration is open for the spring session.
