Fairfield's Harry's Wine & Liquor Marks 70th

The store was founded in 1941 by Harry Pollack, as per a report in the CT Post.

One of Fairfield’s oldest and busiest liquor stores, , 2094 Post Road, is celebrating 70 years in business, according to an article in the Fairfield Citizen.

As per the article by the Citizen’s Michael Juliano, the store was founded in 1941 by Harry Pollack and is now run by his son, Saul Pollack, 73, who took it over full time in 1979.

Since then the store has been expanded two times from about 900 to 7,000 square feet, according to the article.

The store, which prides itself on its personalized service, reportedly carries an inventory of about 10,000 items including a wide selection of wines. What's more, most of the store's employees have backgrounds in pairing the right wines and spirits with food, the article states.

Last year Harry's Wines & Liquors provided libations for the , "A Toast to the Community," benefitting Bridgeport's Burroughs Community Center, held at the .
