Fairfield Wildcats Playoff Highlights

Weekly Roundup of Fairfield Wildcats Youth Football League

7th Grade Wildcats Shut Out Westport 15-0 in Playoffs
The 7th Grade Wildcats advanced in the playoffs with a 15-0 shut out over
Westport Saturday night.  The Wildcat defense dominated, recording
their 5th shut out of the season and not allowing a first down all game.
The defense also opened the scoring with a safety as Josh Evans and Jack

Curtis tackled a Westport runner in the end zone.  The play was set up by
Joey Turner whose strong punt was downed on the 2-yard line. Tough blocking
by Ben Foster, Colin Browne, Sam Hawley, Olle Kooiman, Matt Coda and TJ Grace
kept the Westport defense at bay.  On offense the running game continued to
roll.  Strong runs by Jack Curtis and Timmy Jacobi led to a QB sneak for a
TD by Matthew Cerminaro and Jack Curtis' conversion increased the score to
9-0.  An interception and 30-yard return by Clay Zachery set up a 13-yard TD
run by Jacobi and Westport was never able to recover.

6th Grade Wildcats Advance to Semi’s
The Fairfield Wildcats 6th grade team avenged a week 8 defeat to advance to the semi finals of the league championship. Minimizing turnovers was the key to controlling the game and clock, keeping New Canaan’s dangerous QB off the field. The Cats offense churned out first downs behind the running of Kevin Quinn, Brian Howell, and Brendan Larson.

The Cats lone score came on a combined effort of two offensive units driving the ball 70 yards with the final 35 coming off a Brian Howell scamper left behind blocks from Will Stearn, Jesse Lawson, Justin Coudert and Griffin Forberg. Howell went 5 yards for the PAT by faking a reverse to Aiden Wykoff.  New Canaan answered the bell and drove to the Cats 1 yard line where the defense held up as the half expired. The visitors converted on a 3rd quarter trip to the red zone on sharp passing from their talented QB. That would be all for the visitors as the home town defense led by Jaden Sneed, Danny Russel, PJ Egan, Sean Fuller and a host of others closed the door the rest of the way. The Cats were able to keep possession of the ball for the final 4 minutes and ended the game by taking 3 consecutive knees inside the 30 to run out the clock and advance to the finals this week.

4th Grade Falls to New Canaan
The 4th grade Wildcats lost a hard fought game Saturday night to New Canaan White by a score of 20-0.  The Wildcat defense played tough all game with excellent tackling from Jimmy Cullinan, Brendan Howard, and Jack Morison.  Lorenzo Cooper recovered a fumble late in the first half to keep the Wildcats in the game heading into halftime.  On offense, the Wildcats ran hard behind great blocking from Jack Mckenna, Jack Gremse, and Will Smalley.  Harry Chandler and Ryan McIntosh led the running game for the Wildcats.

FHA Exposed, you can rest. She turned herself in:Read More http://www.justice.gov/usao/ct/Press2013/20130604.html If you are looking for some comeuppance for those that kept this quiet, and handled what they could out of the public's eye, I wish you success in your endeavors, and the best of luck--I think you'll need it.

Atticus, Ralph Arnone is next scheduled to appear in court on July 1st, at which point he isRead More expected to enter a plea. As an aside, one isn't supposed to go to bed and wake up still angry at the same thing, day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out... I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I care deeply about firefighters and I'm genuinely concerned about you. You were exposed to a lot of chemicals in your career. You may have some endocrine system damage or something causing an electrolyte disorder. This stuff starts out with things like joint pain and minor psychological implications but, it gets much, much worse. Get to the doc. Maybe you're just a spicy guy, maybe Ralph hurt you in some terrible way, or maybe you are sick and as a result, you'll be facing a much shortened a painful life. Honestly, I'm not trying to give you a hard time or pick a fight.

Well thanks for your concern Creeky. But at my age I cant say I have lived a shorten life. As forRead More chemicals...well as most of the posters here on this rag say, firemen do nothing 99.9% of the day so I guess the on chemical exposure would be to the big comfy leather chairs in the dayroom. Why do you care anyway Creeky? In your previous posts about me you said, don't feed to trolls. You are not honest Creeky. Take your fake concern and false "honesty" and waste it on someone else. Not trying to give you a hard time, those are your comments about me. Where did you get the info on Ralphy?
Creeky June 19, 2013 at 08:05 am
Atticus, review your own posts. It isn't trolling. It's a vendetta. If you think I'm dishonest,Read More fine. I'm not going to try to speak rationally with someone whom is irrational. Why do I care? Because I've seen how much care fireman are capable of, and how much they give of themselves. It's respect and karma. As far as where I got the info, it's publicly available. If you wanted my help in how to find it yourself, perhaps you shouldn't have attacked my character. You are on your own now.
