Fairfield Wildcats Week 6 Highlights

Weekly Roundup of Fairfield Wildcats Youth Football League

7th Grade Wildcats Subdue Darien White 20 – 7

The 7th grade Wildcats gave up an early touchdown to Darien White in the first quarter, but the stubborn Wildcats defense led by Chris Nielsen, Joey Turner, Steven Ouellette, Josh Evans and Justin Keith kept Darien out of the end zone for the remainder of the game.  Clay Zachery recovered a fumble that set up a 34-yard run by Jack Curtis for the Cats’ first touchdown.  The Wildcats took the lead for good when Curtis ran in for the two-point conversion.  Quarterback Matthew Cerminaro led the offense deep within Darien’s territory at the end of the third quarter after Timmy Jacobi returned a punt for 22 yards.  Jacobi capitalized on the Cats’ excellent field position by scoring on a 1-yard run up the middle.  Cerminaro later increased the lead and sealed the victory with a 1-yard run of his own.  The Wildcats improved their record to 5 – 1.  Next up is Westport North this Sunday at 2:00 in Westport.
