Tomlinson Middle School Students Walk to the Beat of DJ Marvin at Third Annual Walkathon

Tomlinson Middle School Walkathon

Tomlinson Middle School recently held its third annual PTA Walkathon fundraiser.  Over 800 students and staff members wearing t-shirts designed by school art teacher David Ward participated in the two-mile walk around school grounds.

Tomlinson parent DJ Marvin provided music and motivation for the walkers during the event.  The festivities culminated with the top participating homerooms playing several tug-of-war games to determine which classes will receive a bagel buffet breakfast party.

The Walkathon is the PTA’s primary fundraiser, with all proceeds going directly to fund PTA sponsored activities such as author visits, teacher grants, books, student agendas and much more.

“The Walkathon is a wonderful way to combine school spirit and fitness into a fundraising event,” said Tomlinson Middle School PTA President Heather Petrecca.  “It’s a fun day both students and staff have come to look forward to every year.”
