Fairfield Residents to ‘Have Their Say’ on Future of Medicare, Social Security

AARP’s ‘You’ve Earned a Say’ seeks responsible solutions that will secure Medicare and Social Security for generations of families and keep the promise to seniors.

Fairfield, CT – AARP Connecticut is hosting a Community Conversation with residents of Fairfield and surrounding communities about the future of Medicare and Social Security on Thursday, August 29 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation, 118 Jefferson Street, in Fairfield. The event is a continuation of a national effort launched by AARP in 2012 called You’ve Earned a Say which has engaged over 10 million Americans to share their opinions about Medicare and Social Security and give them a voice in the discussion about their future.

In 2013, You’ve Earned a Say is taking what was learned and fighting for responsible solutions that can help secure the future of Medicare and Social Security for all generations, not harmful cuts that simply shift the burden to seniors.  Residents will have an opportunity to learn more about specific proposals being discussed in Washington, share their ideas and have a say about the future of programs that matter to them and their families.
