On Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 9:30 am to 3 pm, the Town of Fairfield will participate in the annual Girl Scouts and Government Day. Over 50 scouts from Fairfield’s schools will shadow town department managers to learn more about their local government.
At 9:30 am, the Girl Scouts will gather in the First Floor Conference Room in Independence Hall, 725 Old Post Road, and receive a welcome from the First Selectman. Scouts will then be introduced to the department manager who they will shadow over the course of the morning.
At 12:15 pm, the scouts and department managers will have lunch at Penfield I, which is located on Fairfield Beach Road. From 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm, the scouts will be divided into three groups for their afternoon tour of the Police Department, Fire Department, or one of the town’s open space properties. At 3:00 pm, the scouts will conclude their day in the First Floor Conference Room at Independence Hall.
