NEW LONDON, CT (05/15/2012)(readMedia) – Amy DeGenaro, a senior at Connecticut College, was awarded the Anthony Francis Nelson Memorial Prize, which is given to majors who have excelled in the field of environmental studies offered by friends in memory of Anthony Francis Nelson '78. DeGenaro was presented with the award at the annual Honors & Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on May 1.
DeGenaro, a 2008 graduate of , is the daughter of Paul and Heide DeGenaro of Fairfield.
At the ceremony, the awards were presented by President Leo I. Higdon, Jr. and Armando I. Bengochea, dean of the college. Jennifer A. Fredricks, associate professor and chair of human development faculty director, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy, gave the keynote address.
