First Selectman Mike Tetreau said, “We appreciate FairTV taping this important session for beach area residents who either couldn’t attend or those who want to get answers to questions they may have missed during the meeting. We hope this panel provides useful information that can help our residents in the aftermath of Storm Sandy.”
Following Storm Sandy, there have been questions regarding house raising, FEMA compliance, height restrictions, flood insurance, and the process for financing and permitting. As a result, the Town convened a citizen’s forum to give beach area residents an opportunity to be fully informed on how best to proceed with rebuilding and getting back into their homes. First Selectman Tetreau moderated a panel made up of FEMA and SBA representatives as well as the Town’s Building Official, Plan and Zoning and Conservation staff.
