There was a cool kid's event this past weekend in Georgetown that involved several Fairfield kids ...
On Sunday night in Georgetown, CT at a town favorite spot, patrons ate their meals with musical entertainment like they do many a night. The only difference is that on this particular night the musicians were all kids. Ranging in age from 10-13 kids from local towns made their way to Georgetown Saloon's first ever Shining Stars Kids Open Mic hosted by Fairfielder Amber Schaper, a sixth grader at Fairfield Woods Middle School.
In fact, many of the performers were from Fairfield. Thirteen year old Jared Bovine, who goes to Tomlinson Middle School, played keyboards and sang Billy Joel's "She's Got a Way' , while twelve year old Mollie Feeley, an 8th grader at Fairfield Woods sang "Almost There". Hostess Amber closed out the night with her rendition of Alicia Keyes' " Empire State of Mind". All in all the night was a huge success.
