Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers of Fairfield and New Canaan will be collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries in the wake of Storm Sandy that wrecked havoc on the region last Monday.
Items dropped off will be donated to Operation Hope, which desperately needs to rebuild its pantry supply following Storm Sandy. People are welcome to drop off donations to Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers, 1591 Post Road, in Fairfield during store hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We urge members of the community, who are always so responsive and generous during hard times, to donate non-perishable food items and clothing to help our neighbors who are need of basic necessities,” said Greg French, co-owner of Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers. “As a long-time small business in Fairfield, we stand by our friends and neighbors as they deal with challenges in the coming weeks and months ahead of recovery and re-building.”
Items needed include the following:
Peanut butter and jelly
Macaroni and cheese
Tuna fish
Canned meats & stews
Cereal/Instant hot cereal
