Macaroni Kid launches its FREE weekly E-newsletter andwebsite covering family events and activities along the Connecticut coastline communities ofFairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford. www.fairfieldbport.macaronikid.com
Under the stewardship of Cynthia Dartley, Publisher/Editor, Macaroni Kid is poised to quicklybecome the go-to source for family events. “As a mom new to the Connecticut area, I knowhow difficult it is to find out and plan all the fun, enriching events and activities available for kids and their families.”
Asked as to why Ms. Dartley decided to become Publisher/Editor of the weekly e-Newsletter “I’ve been in the family entertainment business for years, starting with the Nickelodeon network for kids as well as providing educational outreach materials for PBS KIDS’programs like 'Bob the Builder' and 'Caillou'. It’s just what I do, mostly because I love seeing kids and parents enjoying one another, spending quality time together.”
To make her website as simple as possible for busy parents to navigate, Ms. Dartley specifically designed her E-Newsletter in magazine format, with a table of contents that includes a Letter from the Editor, Editor’s Pick, Recipes & Crafts, Winners’ Circle and of course, a Calendar of Events where users can “click to add” building their own events calendar. Ms.Dartley also insisted on creating a content rich environment and to that end, she posts mostly her own photographs for the E-Newsletter. “It’s important that all of my points-of-contact with my subscribers emit continuity and maintain creative integrity-- for example, one photo of a completed recipe with instructions is in my E-Newsletter, more detailed step-by-step photos ofthat same recipe I’ll also post on my Pinterest site, and, sneak-peek photos will be posted on my Macaroni Kid Face Book page, providing added-value for my subscribers.”
When she’s not busy snapping away with her Canon EOS (lens purchased locally at MilfordPhoto) “I’ve been busy developing partnerships and relationships with the many cultural, not-forprofit,school and festival organizations in our area along the beautiful Connecticut coastline. One of the great perks as Publisher/Editor is I get to interview local cultural organizations’ andevent venues like the Webster Bank Arena and Milford’s Oyster Festival’s organizers, so I get topass on inside information and FREE give-aways to my subscribers.”
