March of Dimes Announces New Fairfield County Division Director

The March of Dimes Connecticut Chapter announces, after a comprehensive and volunteer-led search, that Kristin Rasich Fox has been named Fairfield County Division Director.   Fox began August 6 and will lead the program, fundraising and volunteer efforts in Fairfield County.

“Kristin brings a wealth of successful experience and demonstrated leadership in development and non-profit

fundraising,” says John Banchy, Area Director, March of Dimes East Region. “We are excited about the impact she will make on our mission to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.”

Fox served as the Executive Director of the Fairfield Arts Center, Fairfield CT and Co-Produced the award-winning documentary Years in the Making:  A Journey into Late
Life Creativity
with veteran filmmaker Martin West and internationally acclaimed artist Ann Chernow.  Fox holds a BA in English from the University of California at Los Angeles and worked in the field of real estate finance before moving to Connecticut in 1999.  She was affiliated with Sacred Heart University's Gallery of Contemporary Art prior to its May 2012 closure, and enjoys an ongoing appointment to the Town of Westport's Arts Advisory Committee.

“Kristin brings a dedication to our mission and a clear energetic pursuit of healthy birth outcomes. She will be a tremendous asset to the March of Dimes battle for the health of all babies in Connecticut,” says Jonathan Shapiro, principal with Shapiro Law Offices and March of Dimes Connecticut Chapter Fairfield County Board Chairman.  “Kristin has served successfully with other organizations and we’re excited to have her as part of our March of Dimes team here in Connecticut.”

“It is through our volunteer leadership in partnership with outstanding staff personnel like Kristin that we are able to continue to help moms and ensure that their babies are born full term, healthy and strong,” says Michael Botelho, principal with the law firm Updike, Kelly, and Spellacy, P.C. and March of Dimes Connecticut Chapter Board Chair.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant
mortality. For the latest resources and information, visit marchofdimes.com or nacersano.org. Find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
