First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that Money magazine has chosen Fairfield, Connecticut as the 64th best place to live in America in its 100 Best Places to Live 2012 list.
This year, Money magazine’s goal was to find “America's best small city” with a population between 50,000 to 300,000. According to Money magazine, “These terrific small cities offer what American families care about most – economic strength, great schools, low crime, quality health care, plenty to do and a true sense of community.”
In choosing Fairfield as one of the best places to live in the country, Money magazine noted Fairfield’s highly rated school system, marinas, parks and five miles of shoreline. The Magazine listed Fairfield statistics such as financials, housing, education, quality of life, and leisure and culture. Crime incidents in Fairfield are ranked below the average scores of the other best places to live.
First Selectman Tetreau said, “The Town of Fairfield is very honored to receive this distinguished recognition. From our AAA rating, beautiful amenities and thriving local economy to our excellent school system and impressive level of volunteerism, Fairfield has much to offer and so much to be proud of!”
The “100 Best Places to Live in America” feature appears in the Magazine’s September 2012 edition and can also be found at www.money.cnn.com.
