Members of the public are invited to nominate someone they admire for this prestigious award. The chosen “2013 CWA Woman of Distinction” will exemplify what it means to show great courage and determination while supporting the advancement of women and/or girls. She lives with purpose and passion in all that she does and is committed to defining success for herself and the women and girls she supports. She leads, speaks out, and makes a difference on issues of concern to women and families.
The nomination process is online, and is based on essay submissions that describe the woman’s work, community service and/or volunteer work. Specific examples are requested. Nomination forms are available on www.ctwomensalliance.com.
The award recipient will be honored at the 2013 Connecticut Women’s Conference, a popular all-day event being held on April 25th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell. This year’s theme is “A Million Circles …” and includes speakers, workshops, vendors, breakfast/lunch and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for hundreds of attendees. Selected nominees will also be acknowledged at a special luncheon in May.
The “2013 Woman of Distinction” will join an esteemed group: Thea Montanez, the award recipient of 2012, and Louise Moss, the first recipient, from 2011.
