Kimberly Earns Academic All-District Honor

LEXINGTON, Va. — The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its 2013-14 Capital One Division III Academic All-District Men's Basketball squad on Thursday and Washington and Lee senior center Drew Kimberly (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) was selected to the five-member District 5 team.

A computer science and mathematics double major, Kimberly is averaging 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is leading the ODAC in field goal percentage at 62.4 (88-141). Kimberly has totaled five double-doubles this season, and has season-highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Kimberly is the first W&L men's basketball player to receive the honor since Ben Goetsch garnered the recognition during the 2009-10 season. Kimberly will move onto the national ballot where he has a chance at earning Academic All-America honors.

The criteria for the Capital One Academic All-District program states that a player must be of sophomore academic standing, be a starter or important reserve and claim a GPA of at least a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. Washington and Lee is a member of District 5, which includes players from Division III schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
