Fairfield Prep Players present The Mystery of Edwin Drood on May 8-9
Prep Players are in the final week of rehearsals for The Mystery of Edwin Drood, a wildly warm-hearted theatrical rendition of an unfinished Dickens mystery. The story itself deals with John Jasper, a Jekyll-and-Hyde choirmaster who is quite madly in love with his music student, the fair Miss Rosa Bud. Now, Miss Bud is, in turn, engaged to Jasper's nephew, young Edwin Drood. Our title character disappears mysteriously one stormy Christmas Eve-but has Edwin Drood been murdered? And if so, then whodunit? The giddy playfulness of this play-within-a-play draws the audience in and them to vote on the solution. The production will be held at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on the campus of Fairfield University on May 8 and 9 at 8 pm. Ticket, $5 for students and $10 for adults, can be reserved by calling 203-254-4010.
