Local Fairfield Family Chooses Solar Energy

Meet Mary Hogue, who lives here in Fairfield, CT. Mary’s family of four lives a busy lifestyle, and while they are constantly attempting to recycle and conserve energy to mitigate the problems related to climate change, they felt that they needed to more. And that’s why they started researching solar energy and were delighted to learn about the Solarize Fairfield program.

With assistance from the Solarize Fairfield program, Mary was able to have solar panels installed on her home, and she reports it was a very easy and smooth process. The switch to solar energy has been so seamless for Mary that she reports that she doesn’t even notice the solar panels – except when she receives her greatly reduced energy bill each month! Mary’s home was fully converted to solar energy in the spring of 2013.

Proud of her reduced energy spending, Mary encourages everyone to investigate going solar – and also shared that the decision to use solar energy has showed her children that she acts upon her environmental beliefs (her kids are very enthusiastic about the solar panels!). Mary is a dedicated solar energy advocate.
