Paschal Chukwu, Fairfield Prep Class of ’14, Signs with Providence College
Fairfield Prep senior Paschal Chukwu signed a National Letter of Intent with Providence College on November 14 at a press conference held at the school. Focus, determination and diligence have all contributed to Paschal’s success at Fairfield Prep. Last season Paschal led the Prep Basketball team to the CIAC LL State Championship game where he had 12 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to Hillhouse High School. For the season Paschal averaged 13.7 points, 12.1 rebounds and 6.8 blocks per game. Paschal’s standout ability earned numerous accolades. He was the MVP of the Fairfield Prep Holiday Tournament, and was named to the MSG Varsity All-CT First Team, New Haven Register All-Area Team, and SCC All-Quinnipiac Team. The Connecticut Post selected him as their MVP, and he was placed on the CHSCA Class LL All-State Team. Despite the time demands and the attention he has received with basketball, Paschal has remained an active and engaged member of the Fairfield Prep community. He was a reserve attacker for the varsity soccer team when the Jesuits' reached the Class LL state finals in the fall of 2012. Paschal has also been volunteering with the Kennedy Center bowling program for developmentally delayed adults. Paschal has earned the respect of his fellow students with his authenticity, enthusiasm and leadership.
