Fairfield, CT- September 5, 2013 - Ms. Terry Giegengack, Director of Human and Social Services announced today that on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, the Fairfield Senior Center will offer extended hours for its Wednesday Night Out fall program. Director Giegengack said: “Our market research reveals that younger senior residents would like evening or weekend programs. This fall evening series was designed to acquaint residents over age 50 with the diversity and richness of the center’s programs.”

The Center is fortunate to have the generous support of the local business community for these Wednesday evenings. Refreshments for the Sept 25th evening will be hosted by Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation, located at 118 Jefferson Street, Fairfield, Connecticut. Ms. Diane Sullivan, Director of Community Relations, will be here to explain Ludlowe’s services and answer questions.
To cover the expense of these evening programs, the Center will charge nominal fees for some activities. On September 25th, a premium coffee and dessert hour will be held in our dining hall from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.

2- Fairfield Senior Center Wednesday Night Out
Pickleball will be played in the gym from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at no charge.
Ms. Fran Palumbo will conduct a Meditation Class if at least 12 people pre-register for the class. The fee is $10.00 and it will run from 6:30 – 7:30 P.M.
Yoga for Everybody will hold a class from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. for a minimum of 6 pre-registered people. The fee is $ 10.00. Participants must bring their own mat.
This evening’s lecture will be given by the popular Rev. Charles H. Allen, S.J.,
Special Assistant to the President of Fairfield University, University Chaplain and Catholic Chaplain to the Town of Fairfield Emergency Services, starting at 6:00 P.M. in the Multi-Media Room. Fr. Allen will discuss the great sites of Sicily from Palermo to Agrigento and everything in between. The charge for Fr. Allen’s talk is $20.00.
Pre-registration is required to assure seating.
Director Terry Giegengack said: “We are very grateful to Fr. Allen for his enthusiastic support of the Fairfield Senior Center.”
Pre-registration is required for certain activities. To reserve your seat for a class or a lecture, call 203-254-5102 Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Checks payable to the Fairfield Senior Center may be sent to the Fairfield Senior Center at: 100 Mona Terrace Fairfield, CT 06824 or brought in the night of the program.
The Senior Center is handicapped accessible and parking is available.
