Criminal Justice Career Fair 3/27 at HCC

Housatonic Community College will hold a criminal justice and public safety career fair Wednesday, March 27.

 

BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College will hold a criminal justice and public safety  career fair Wednesday, March 27.

The event is designed to expose students to various career options and highlight the importance of higher education for future criminal justice practitioners. Representatives from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and four-year colleges will be on hand to provide recruitment information.

A panel discussion on first responder and disaster response teams will be held at 10 a.m. The panel will include representatives of the FBI and the Connecticut State Staten Police.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Events Center in Beacon Hall. Criminal Justice majors from other colleges are invited to attend the event, which is open to the public at no charge.

Housatonic offers an associate degree and three certificate programs in this field. Certificate programs are offered in Corrections, Criminal Investigation, and Police Management and Administration.

Courses are transferable to four-year colleges and universities having programs in criminal justice, public administration, and social sciences. In addition, the college has automatic transfer agreements with four-year colleges such as Sacred Heart University and the University of New Haven that offers automatic acceptance to criminal justice students who meet specified criteria.

HCC is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, less than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1), a block from the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard. Free parking is available in the Housatonic garage.
