Spring 2013 - My VIETNAM WAR special topics history class (HIS 298) meets once a week on Wednesday night at 6:30 PM. It covers both the war that was fought in Vietnam and ended in 1975, and the war that was fought here in the U.S.A. - which is still going on. Thus, in addition to analyzing the war's major battles and campaigns, the course also places Vietnam within the larger context of Cold War America and the turbulent 1960s. Vietnam veterans are welcome to attend and the course syllabus sets aside time for students who personally witnessed either the war at home or in Southeast Asia to educate their classmates about their experiences.
