HCC OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY, 4/27

BRIDGEPORT – Prospective students will get a glimpse of academic and student life at Housatonic Community College Sunday at an open house in the College Courtyard.

College faculty and staff will be on hand to offer information about the full range of credit and non-credit programs and courses HCC offers in areas such as business, healthcare, manufacturing, computers, early childhood education, graphic design, fine arts, and criminal justice. Some prepare students to move on to a four-year college, while others prepare students to move directly into the workplace.

Likewise, students will be able to obtain information about the range of non-credit programs and courses the college offers. These fact-track courses, which give you what you need when you need it, are designed to enhance your professional skills to improve job performance, receive a job promotion, change careers, or  improve your resume.

Students also can find out about the new Forward program that was created with veterans and underemployed or unemployed people in mind. That program has created 10 new market-sensitive credit and noncredit Healthcare and Information Technology programs. As students pursue their programs, they will be offered side courses such as career counseling, resume writing, interviewing, and searching for jobs.

The open house will offer prospective students information about admissions, financial aid, degrees, transfer paths, and student clubs and activities. Students will be able learn about HCC’s transfer agreements with 18 other colleges that ensure students a seamless transfer into those schools.
