Now if they could only teach them the traffic rules also. Tired of bikers not obeying traffic signs and red lights. Before you get your speedos in a bunch, you know it's true. Not all but the majority give little thought to the automobile drivers. Knowing full well the auto is going to look like the bad guy. We all have cerain responsibilities while on the raod.

Speedos are worn by swimmers, not cyclists. As someone who commutes everyday on my bike I will agree that a majority of cyclists will only perform a "rolling stop" when in fact they should stop completely, especially at traffic lights. As far as giving little thought to automobile drivers ... I'm not sure where you're getting that. That 3000 lb. machine your piloting is usually all that's on my mind.

Tucker- Any additional cost to Fairfiield taxpayer for a more "bikeable" community should require a bike tax http://streetsblog.net/2010/03/24/revisiting-the-idea-of-a-bicycle-tax/

I stand corrected on the speedos, let's call them shorts then. Some down even come to a rolling stop, in fact some don't even look for on coming traffic, they assume that the auto driver will stop. Again I am not blaming all cyclists all need to share the road. A little curtesty goes a long way.

I agree completely.

Not everything has to devolve into your petty political bullcrap, Sandra. Thanks for your input though.

Tucker-shut up.
Tucker February 05, 2013 at 07:30 PM
After you, Sandra.

Go ride a bike. You got up on the wrong side of your toddler bed today?

It would be nice if the Police in this town cracked down and handed out tickets to the bike riders that don't have Lights on their bikes at night! The best place to find these idiots is at the town's Train Stations and on the Post Road. Commuters riding their bikes to and from the Train Stations are the worst offenders followed closely by the illegal aliens riding their bikes to and from their jobs on the Post Road.
fairfield newcomer February 06, 2013 at 07:43 PM
Illegal aliens, any proof of that statement?
fairfield newcomer February 06, 2013 at 07:46 PM
How about something that doesn't have any cost to taxpayers for a change.
