As part of its efforts to increase tourism to Connecticut and to shine a spotlight on the State’s many unique towns and diverse experiences, the Connecticut Office of Tourism is running this socially-driven campaign through July 25, 2014.   The program calls for people to vote for the Connecticut Town that they think most embodies the spirit of the State’s brand, Connecticut still revolutionary.

“We all know and appreciate what makes Fairfield such a great community.  And, with the Town celebrating the 375th anniversary of its founding, we want everyone else to know too.  There’s still time to cast your ballot and push Fairfield over the top!” added Director of Community and Economic Development Mark Barnhart.

Participants 18 years or older wishing to highlight the unique aspects of the Town of Fairfield can go to https://www.facebook.com/VisitConnecticut/app_194975693850063 and click on the “Vote Now” button where they can follow the prompts and vote for their favorite town.  Participants can also vote for a favorite place within the town which can be a business, destination or attraction.    Those without a Facebook profile may still participate and vote through the State Tourism website at www.CTvisit.com/fanfavorite.

All entrants will automatically be entered to win a Connecticut getaway package to Niantic, Connecticut – the first-ever Fan-Favorite Town.  The “ZIP and ZEN” prize package includes a four-night stay at the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina, $100 gift card to Grace Boutique and a free all-day pass to Niantic Bay Bicycles.  There is no cost to enter.

In addition to bragging rights, the winning town and destination will receive advertising and promotional support from the State Office of Tourism, an editorial feature in the 2015 Official Connecticut Visitor’s Guide, and a week-long social media feature across the State’s Tourism channels.
