Expect Traffic Delays Saturday, Sunday for Fairfield Races

The following information was supplied by the Fairfield Police Department: 

Saturday, June 22 traffic delays for the Fairfield 5K race: 

- Expect delays on Fairfield Beach Road, Rowland Road, Reef Road and Oldfield Road. 
- Race begin at 8:30 a.m. and ends by 11 a.m.

A message from the Fairfield Fire Department: 

This Sunday, June 23, the Fairfield Firefighters will host their 33rd Fairfield Half Marathon Road Race to benefit many local and regional charities. Last year over $400,000 was raised.

1. Residents South of the Old Post Rd. between Reef Rd. and Beach Rd. should expect traffic delays between 8:30 and 8:50 and again when runners return between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

2. Residents South of Oldfield Rd between Reef Rd. and Sasco Hill Rd. should expect delays between 8:35 and 9:00 and again when runners return between 9:30 and 10:45.

3. Residents on and south of Pequot Avenue and Westway Rd., as well as Oxford Rd. should expect delays between 8:40 and 10:00.
