Fairfield Grant Writer Wins Competition for Jewish Senior Services

Carrie Frank, grant writer for Jewish Senior Services in Fairfield, received Honorable Mention in the annual nationwide Winning Grant Proposal Competition sponsored by the Grant Professionals Association and GrantStation. 

A panel of 21 judges carefully reviewed the entries over a period of several weeks and notified Frank of her winning entry on July 17.

“The winning entries exemplify excellence in grant seeking and will be shared with colleague writers to help them gain in knowledge and experience,” according to the Grant Professionals Association.  

Frank’s award represents the top 10 percent of entries.

Frank is the lead writer for public and private grants for the organization. Her winning entry was an awarded proposal for support of Jewish Senior Services’ Center for Elder Abuse Prevention. 

The Center is a grant-funded program to assist victims and reduce the prevalence of elder abuse in Fairfield County. The Center provides clients with an array of services, including a telephone helpline, public education sessions and emergency shelter for victims. The Center is the first comprehensive elder abuse shelter and resource in Connecticut and the second in the nation.
