Five Things: Eat Pizza, Fight Cancer at Colony Grill

'Five Things to Know' is a new weekday column on Fairfield Patch to replace the Morning Briefing. Check out 'Five Things to Know' each morning during the week to help plan your day.   

Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Tuesday, April 23:   

1. The weather.
There's a slight chance of showers on Tuesday, and temperatures are expected to reach a high of 53 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.  

2. Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Town Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the application to build a 65-unit residential development at 185 Thorpe Street. The hearing was continued from March 26 and April 2.  

3. Eat Pizza, Fight Cancer at Colony Grill.
Join Fairfield's "Moms Making a Difference" Relay for Life Team at Colony Grill between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to eat pizza and support a good cause.  

4. Children's Books Workshop.
Aspiring children's books writers can learn what it takes to become a published author at this Fairfield Public Library forum, which begins at 7 p.m. at the main library.  

5. Traffic.
