Five Things, May 15: New York Times Bestseller Visits Fairfield

Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Wednesday, May 15:  

1. The weather.
Wednesday may turn stormy after 4 p.m. Showers are likely and there's a possibility of a thunderstorm in the evening.  

2. Fairfield Ludlowe High School expansion.
The Board of Selectmen is slated to vote on the $11.6 million project at its 4:30 p.m. meeting in Sullivan Independence Hall. The board is also expected to vote on the $14.5 million Riverfield School renovation and expansion project.  

3. Shavuot Ice Cream Party.
Celebrate Shavuot with an ice cream and dairy buffet at Chabad of Fairfield (1571 Stratfield Road) at 5:30 p.m.  

4. New York Times Bestseller visits Fairfield.
Nick Ortner, author of "The Tapping Solution," will speak at The Annex (63 Unquowa Road) at 6:30 p.m.  

5. Learn how our environment shapes our genes.
The Fairfield Public Library Health Series presents a lecture on epigenetics at 10 a.m. (at the main library) and 7 p.m. (at the Woods branch). Holistic Health Practitioner Karen Drena is the speaker.
