Five Things: McKinley School Carnival Starts Thursday, April 25

Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Thursday, April 25:     

1. The weather.
Thursday is forecast to start off partly sunny, becoming gradually sunny throughout the day, the National Weather Service reports. Expect temperatures to reach a high near 62 degrees.  

2. The McKinley School Carnival.
The McKinley School Carnival at Jennings Beach begins Thursday at 6 p.m. and runs through Sunday.  

3. Softball tournament - a call for teams.
The inaugural softball tournament to benefit the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut takes place June 29 and June 30 at Fairfield's Tom Hayden Field, but interested teams should register now.    

4. Coffee Hour:
Join members of Fairfield's Special Needs PTA (SEPTA) and the Fairfield Museum and History Center from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  at the Fairfield Museum to discuss how the museum staff can design programs tailored to the special needs community.    

5. William-Sonoma Featured Authors Speak at the Library.
The creators of Canal House Cooking, Melissa Hamilton and Christopher Hirsheimer, will speak at the main library at noon on Thursday.
