Five Things: Poetry Scavenger Hunt at Pequot Library

'Five Things to Know' is a new weekday column on Fairfield Patch to replace the Morning Briefing. Check out 'Five Things to Know' each morning during the week to help plan your day.   

Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Wednesday, April 24:  

1. The weather.
The day will start off partly sunny and gradually become sunny with temperatures reaching a high near 68, according to the National Weather Service. There's a chance of showers overnight.  

2. The Local Meatball.
The Local Meatball will be dishing up its breakfast sandwich, "The Jewel," in Unquowa Road near the entrance to the Fairfield Center train station starting at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.  

3. The Deanna O. Kiernan Award.
The Fairfield PTA Council seeks nominations for the 2013 Deanna O. Kiernan Award, presented in memory of a past PTA president.       

4. Learn How to Video Chat with Skype.
Head to the Fairfield Public Library Wednesday between noon and 1 p.m. to learn how to use Skype with Town Web Master Merry Uk.  

5. A Poetry Scavenger Hunt.
In honor of April being National Poetry Month, the Pequot Library will host a poetry scavenger hunt at 4 p.m. for children ages 6 - 11. Registration is required; click here for details.
