Why Go: Homes with Hope is sponsoring the sandcastle build-a-thon at Compo Beach. Celebrate an afternoon of family, fun, friends and community while raising funds to support the homeless and other neighbors in need.
Rain date is Sunday, May 15.
Pricing: Big Lots (10’ X 10’) are $100 and can accommodate up to four sand sculptors. Really Big Lots (20’ X 20’) are $300. Why Go: The Beardsley Zoo will hold its annual Pet Awareness and Adoption Day with presentations on pet care and safety, crafts for the kids and other surprises. Pets will be available for adoption. Participating animal organizations include: Bridgeport and Stratford Animal Control; North Shore Animal League; Bully Breed Rescue; Best Friends Pet Care; Pups Without Partners (Greyhound Rescue); Pet Therapy Dogs; Trumbull Animal Group; Guiding Eyes for the Blind; and many more.
