Though the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Fairfield County through 6 p.m. Tuesday—with ice and up to four inches of snow expected—Fairfield schools and community organizations are operating as usual.

School is in session here, and as of 12 p.m. no early dismissal has been announced by the district on its hotline at 203-255-8255. (Darien cancelled school today while in Stamford, kids are going home early.)

Fairfield Library and its branches are operating on normal hours, officials at those organizations say.

Metro-North Railroad says trains are now on or close to schedule, after an earlier drawbridge malfuction in South Norwalk had delayed commuters.

The weather service is calling for snow through about 7 p.m. Tuesday, with sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday.
