'Jar in a Bar' Fundraiser to Benefit Sandy Hook Victim's Family Tonight
Women in Need is holding one of its 'Jar in a Bar' events to support a family affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
The Fairfield-based organization Women in Need will hold one of its "jar in a bar" fundraisers tonight to benefit the family of a Sandy Hook Elementary School victim.
"Jar in a bar" will take place at the Horseshoe Cafe in Southport starting at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
The event is simple -- there will be a jar for people to place donations in at the Horseshoe Cafe.

Women in Need puts on this event every few months, usually to help a struggling Fairfield woman who has been nominated to receive the organization's assistance.
This time, however, the event will support "our Newtown neighbors," according to an email sent by the Women in Need organizers.

"Let's stand with them and offer the kind of strength, hope, and love you have so generously given to our Fairfield sisters in need," the email states.
