Dr.  Marcus will discuss the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as “ObamaCare,” which was passed into law on March 23, 2010. Dr. Marcus recognizes that the rapid pace of change in healthcare is unrelenting and the complexities are confusing to all.  In his lecture, he will clarify many misconceptions that exist regarding the tangled rules, regulations and policies of the Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Marcus will explain the intention of the Act which is to make healthcare more efficient, effective and accessible for all.  He will also discuss what the public should expect to see as traditional fee-for-service care for acute illnesses transforms over time into fee-for-value care where provider re-imbursement models become based on quality of care and patient outcomes rather than just doing more treatments.
