Summer began in Fairfield with the running of the 33rd annual Stratton Faxon Half Marathon and 5K road races this weekend.
Eric Chirchir, 29, of Kenya, made it to half marathon finish line in 1:05:58 (5:03 min/mile) to clinch the race win. Ethiopia's Tigist Tufa, 26, won the women's division with a time of 1:15:24.

Timothy Milenkevich, 31, of Ansonia won Saturday's 5K race -- he ran it in 15:39 seconds. Mary Zengo, 47, of Wilton, topped the female runners with an 18:36 race time.
