Police Chief, Officials Celebrate World Read Aloud Day [VIDEO]

Police Chief Gary MacNamara, Deputy Police Chief Chris Lyddy, Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Title, and Deputy Town Librarian Nancy Coriaty read children's books aloud Wednesday.

Young children in Fairfield were in for a treat Wednesday when town officials took part in celebrating World Read Aloud Day at the Fairfield Public Library.

Deputy Town Librarian Nancy Coriaty, Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Title, Deputy Police Chief Chris Lyddy, and Police Chief Gary MacNamara each took turns reading aloud some of their favorite children's books.

World Read Aloud Day is a LitWorld initiative. LitWorld is a nonprofit organization that promotes literacy as the foundation for emotional and physical well-being, intellectual growth, and economic security, according to the Fairfield Public Library's event information.
