The Southport-based fundraising organization Near & Far Aid will hold its annual Spring Gala on Friday, March 1, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mitchells of Westport.
Guests will enjoy an "exotic Indian event of vibrant colors, bond tastes, and enchanting encounters" at this year's Bollywood-themed event, according to a press release from the organization.
Mitchells will be transformed into Westport's own Taj Mahal for the event, hosted by Fox Business news Network's Liz Claman and TV personality David Price. The two will be joined by 2012 Dancing with the Stars champion Tony Dovolani.
Participants can bid on many items in the Spring Gala auction, including to a five-night stay in India, VIP access to the US Grand Prix, and a trip to the Women's Finals at Wimbledon.
Once the gala is over, guests can stay for the official after party, featuring grilled cheeses by the Melt Mobile and music by The Tremors, a New York City-based band.
"It's a festive evening with a serious purpose," according to Near & Far Aid's release. The all-volunteer organization, started in 1946, has granted more than $12 million since 2000 to agencies that help combat poverty in Fairfield County.
