What's Popular, What's Anticipated for Summer Reading

In the market for a new book to read? Susan Balla, circulation coordinator at the Fairfield Public Library, has you covered.

The spring's most anticipated books include Dan Brown's "Inferno" (out May 14) and "The Kite Runner" author Khaled Hosseini's "And the Mountains Echoed" (out May 21).

"Me Before You" by JoJo Mayes is a current hot title.

"Not one person has said they didn't like it," Balla said.

Also popular are Jodi Picoult's "The Storyteller," Kristin Hannah's "Fly Away," Kate Atkinson's "Life After Life," and Nathaniel Philbricket's "Bunker Hill."

"The Hit" by David Baldacci "always has quite a few requests," Balla said.

Fans of Stephen King should check out the work of his son, Joe Hill.

Balla said Hill does horror, but "he's not quite like his father."

Popular now is Hill's "NOS4A2," though Balla prefers "Heart-Shaped Box."

"It's a little quirky, but he's good."
