Company of Thieves

Company of Thieves is a Chicago-based rock band led by Genevieve Schatz, a small woman with a damn big voice -- like Fiona Apple gone indie rock. With the range of a bigger-than-life pop star and the sexy, flower child vibe of a fiery young artist, Schatz leads a melodious and hard-driving band of dudes through refreshing but nicely familiar-sounding rock tunes. Swirling keyboards and explosive riffs, Company of Thieves is on a fast path to bigger, more adoring audiences. Company of Thieves is best known for the popular singles “Oscar Wilde” of Ordinary Riches and “Death in Communication” off Running From a Gamble, and more importantly for their exciting live show.

“With the lungs of Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde) and the lilt of Dolores O'Riordan (the Cranberries, but without her trademark falsetto break, thank heavens), Schatz is a dynamo on record and on stage belting in front of this basic but bold rock band.” - Chicago Sun Times

“Running From a Gamble is a huge record made for huge things. These 13 songs are proof that Company of Thieves deserve the world's attention.” - Windy City Rock
