FACes and Places: Art Behind the Scenes

The Fairfield Arts Center is presenting the first in its series of Art Behind the Scenes tours beginning on Thursday June 2 from 10-3:30PM at the American Fabrics Arts Building artists’ lofts in Bridgeport.

Have you ever wondered what an artist’s studio looks like or about the process of making art?  FACes and Places will demystify what is often seen as an inner sanctum, by inviting the public into a very hip, industrial space for lunch, a winetasting and studio tour in a Place constructed in the 1920’s that served as a manufacturing hub for textiles including linen, lace and knits.  The four-story building was abandoned in the 1970’s and remained in a dilapidated state until 2009 when Westrock Development LLC renovated it turning the space into artists’ studios.

Cost is $75 for FAC members/$95 for non-members.  The day includes catered lunch and winetasting in Janine Brown's Studio.
