Jeff Coffin's Mu'tet

Probably fresh off a Dave Matthews or Flecktones tour, Jeff Coffin is a three-time Grammy winning saxophonist and composer who’s got much more to offer than his support work. Mu’tet draws from African, New Orleans, Indian, funk, jazz, folk, Gypsy, rock, fusion, Brazilian and other types of music. If you think you love music now, just wait until after Coffin’s show on StageOne. You’ll be changed by his approach to sax and flute instruments -- employing guitar effects, looping and sometimes playing two saxes at once -- and by rest of this groove-filled, almost mystical band. Band members have combined experience with Glenn Frye, Herbie Hancock, Susan Tedeschi, Phil Lesh, Derek Trucks and the Aquarium Rescue Unit, but with Jeff Coffin they shine brightest.

"Jeff Coffin continues to turn heads as one of the most impressive saxophonists in modern [jazz] music...some amazing compositional skills...The end result is nothing short of glorious, a must hear."
