Meet Miss Mary at the Fairfield Public Library

The Library is happy to welcome Mary Sorhus as the new Head of Children’s Services.  In fact, we’re declaring the week of April 16-20 Miss Mary Week.  Join her Monday, April 16 at 9:30 am for Drop-in Story time for children 18-36 months; Tuesday, April 17 at 9:30 am for Drop-In Story time for 3-5 year olds; Wednesday, April 18 at 11 am for Drop-in Story and Craft for kindergartners; Thursday, April 19 at 11 am for Drop-in Story and Craft for 1st and 2nd graders; and Friday, April 20 at 11 am for a Drop-in Earth Day celebration for 3rd-5th graders.  Meet Miss Mary Week will take place at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.   If you can’t stop by this week, be sure to say hi to Miss Mary on your next visit.

Mary has worked at the Perrot Memorial Library in Old Greenwich, CT, Harris County Public Library in Houston, TX and, most recently, the New Canaan Library in New Canaan, CT.  She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences.

Town Librarian Karen Ronald noted, “Parents and staff have already expressed their delight in having our vibrant and welcoming new Children’s Services Head ready to enhance the library experience for young patrons and their care givers.”
