Southport Theatre Studio Acting Classes for Middle School Students

Southport Studio Theatre (SST) classes- for beginner and experienced actors alike.

Run by professional actor and seasoned teacher, long time Fairfield Resident Frank Root has been bringing Broadway experience to local students for 12 years. Students will learn the art of performing a song or scene and explore character development through exercises, improvisation, monologues and scene work, movement, theatre games, and group vocal lessons.  Technique and fun are the cornerstones of each session.  Student work is show-cased in a final presentation for family and friends in December.

Small class sizes provide a safe, nurturing environment and one-on-one attention.  Students build camaraderie and their different levels of experience foster a caring, mentoring community.  

Middle School classes (grades 5-8) are held 10 Mondays 5-7pm,  starting September 24rd.   A High School Session (grades 8-12) is also offered on Sundays. A final performance will be held on Sunday,  December 16th.  All classes and performances are at Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Ave, Southport.
