The Alternate Routes Special Alumni & Family Weekend concert with opening guest Ari Hest

As part of the 2012 Alumni & Family Weekend festivities, the Quick Center is proud to present The Alternate Routes, a band created in Bridgeport, CT by Fairfield University alums Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly. Known for their genre-defying style, their music falls somewhere between Indie and pop, anthemic and microscopic, folk and rock and roll. Tim Warren has a voice that twangs with notes of David Gray and Van Morrison. Eric Donnelly's guitar playing draws comparison to Mike Campbell, Nels Cline, and George Harrison. For this show, the band will also feature Fairfield Alum Kurt Leon on drums, and Mike Sembos, a Bridgeport native, songwriter and music columnist on bass.

The band has received the Independent Song of the Year Award, an honor bestowed by a panel including Norah Jones and Tom Waits, and shared the stage with countless acts over the years including Johnny Lang, O.A.R, Live, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Doobie Brothers, and Need To Breathe, including an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

On performing back at their alma mater, Warren says, "we are so excited to do something ambitious in our hometown, in a room where Eric and I both had some of our earliest experiences on stage. This show promises to be a milestone of its own."
