Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

Troy 'Trombone Shorty' Andrews has the raw talent of a budding jazz great and the spirit of a lead guitarist, drawing from the rich funk history of Tremé, New Orleans. Rapidly turning heads on an international level, he’s already played gigs and performed studio sessions with Dr. John, U2, Harry Connick Jr., Allen Toussaint, Galactic Jeff Beck and the Dave Matthews Band – most especially Galactic’s Ben Ellman, who produced Troy’s album Backtown.

You’ve seen him on the HBO series Treme, about New Orleansians rebuilding their lives after Hurricane Katrina and all over the late night TV show circuit. Now, see him live with his wild rock band, at the sprawling art-deco theater that is the Klein. His upcoming album, For True, features guest appearances by Kid Rock and Jeff Beck, along with 14 brand new tracks, all written by Andrews himself. Splicing rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop and soul into his own brand of “supafunkrock,” someone like Troy only comes around once a generation.

“He's one of the Crescent City's most seasoned players, with two decades of experience. For years, that savvy, seismic mesh of jazz, rock, R&B and hip-hop electrified audiences.” - USA Today

“…High energy, high octane and highly contagious.” - AllAboutJazz.com
