New Date Set for Author's Visit, 'Guy's Night Out' Kicks Off Friday

Author Mary Jane Clark's visit to the Fairfield Public Library to discuss her new book has been rescheduled to Jan. 25...'Guy's Night Out' kicks off with Colony Pizza and 'Fight Club'

In addition to school closings and other delays after the massive snowstorm that came through Fairfield last week, author Mary Jane Clark’s visit to the Fairfield Public Library to discuss her new book was postponed. For fans of Clark, take note that the library just announced a new date – Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. – and registration is open now.

Clark’s latest book, “To Have and To Kill,” will be available for purchase and signing at the event, which also includes lunch.

The Associated Press has likened Clark to mystery writer Agatha Christie:

“Her novels are like Agatha Christie’s whodunits, but they have a hard, contemporary edge that enhances the fear factor,” the AP said.

“To Have and To Kill” is the first book in Clark’s “Wedding Cake Mystery” series. Clark said her goal is to give readers hints throughout the novel so at the end of the story, they can piece it together themselves.

“My aim is lay out all the clues in such a way that you don't even realize that you've been given the answer to the mystery until you get to the end... and then realize 'Aha... it was there all the time but I just didn't see it,' ” Clark said.
